CIF Championships

The team prepares for the biggest race of their lives. The CIF Southern Section Finals consist of the top 16 teams for each respective DIV in the best section in the best state of America for high school distance running. The top 7 teams would go on to compete in Fresno at the State Meet. Neal said that this was the most physical start of his racing career. The first mile is a narrow valley loop and Neal said he had to use his elbows on other runners more than usual just to keep from falling down. One-mile mark. Neal's one regret of the race was not going out fast enough. His first mile was 5:00, but he said he wanted it to be around 4:50.

The results: It was a great honor and accomplishment for the cross-country team to make it to this race. All of the members on Neal's team have worked very hard, and they are all in top physical condition. Not including Sundays, Neal has not missed one day of running and training since the middle of June.
